Explorers for the 5th-6th History class

What you need for this activity:
*the map your teacher gave you.
*colored pencils (at least 6 different colors)

Use different colors to trace the different routes each explorer/conquistador took on his voyages. When you are finished, create a legend/key/llave on the map to show which color is which explorer. Make sure you turn in your completed map with both of your names on it so that Miss Melby can give you a grade.

Go to this map with your partner and use it to draw the exploration routes of Columbus, DeSoto, Coronado, and Cabrillo on your map. To see where each explorer traveled, click on his name on the legend to see the route appear. Take turns with your partner copying what you see onto your map.

Use the picture below to trace the route of Cortes and Ponce de Leon. If you click on it, it SHOULD get bigger.
